WAJIBU - Institute of Public Accountability is working to promote accountability and good governance in Tanzania. The overall aim is to empower citizens firstly to understand the concept of accountability and good governance and secondly to demand for them where they feel that they are in adequate or lacking in the duty bearers operations. To accomplish this, WAJIBU plans to introduce Accountability Lecture Series in higher learning institutions and through these to the general public. The Accountability Lecture Series is an oral presentation intended to present information or teaching people about accountability and good governance in the form of lecture series. Accountability Lectures will be used to convey critical information, history, background and theories about accountability and good governance in the country. For the year 2017 WAJIBU is planning to launch the Lecture series with the theme: “Failure in governance the root cause of corruption in Tanzania”. WAJIBU is requesting that the launch take place at your University on Friday, 15th December, 2017. It is expected that this event will involve members of the academic staff, Master’s Degree students and undergraduate students pursuing relevant programs to the theme.
